Chef Gillian Clark
Gillian fell in love with food early
on as a latchkey kid who came
home alone to a quiet apartment.
The only vestige of family or
parent to greet her was the lunch
and note her father left for her on
the family's huge dining room table.
Gillian credits this bit of personal
history for her attachment to food
and her belief in its powers.

After leaving magazine publishing
and promotional communications
behind (she graduated from
Johns Hopkins University with a
BA in English), Gillian put herself through cooking school
(L'Academie de Cuisine in Bethesda, MD). As opening
chef at man of the areas top restaurants, Gillian has
become a culinary talent that has captured the attention of
food lovers and critics. She's been called "gifted" (by James
Beard Award winner Chef Ann Cashion), "talented" (by
Washington Post Food Critic Tom Sietsema), and "a genius"
(by Chef Susan Lindeborg).
